The Seeker

Here’s to the adventure of my life!

Turkey and Greece, you are both to be devoured by me.

I’m leaving in two days.

I’m so excited, it’s ridiculous :)

If there’s one thing I swear I’ll do, and won’t forgive myself if I don’t, is to travel the world.

There is so much beauty in this world, that it overwhelms me, and all I want to do is seek it. I will seek all the wonder there is, and stand in awe of it.

I was one the verge of tears

after watching Paranormal Activity 2, when I realized that I spend a lot of nights in my apartment alone (the roomies have places to be, lol), and will now have these images to keep me company at night. FUCK FUCK FUCK.

Seeing as I haven’t watched the first one, the whole idea and framework of the movie came as a surprise to me, and I understood why the first one caused such a havoc—because the movie franchise is spine-tingling, blood-curdling and genuinely horrifying, that’s fucking why. The suspense in the movie theatre was so overamounting that I could feel its presence ready to strangle and steal the breath out of me when the lights went down during the film.

So apparently,

Demons + empty house = not exactly rainbows and butterflies

I already had my first dose of this while taking a shower earlier (I was alone in the apartment) and had to repeatedly open the shower curtain to check if “something else” was there (LOL WTF). When this psych-myself-out scenario happened, I tried to repeat the phrase “THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS” in my head, but all I could think of were the demonic scenes in the movie. My ears have also become abnormally attuned to anticipate any ominous sounds like wind swishing, cabinet and drawer doors creaking, and imagined footsteps.

Goodluck to me, and my future nights of restlessness. FUCK FUCK FUCK.

Now, I shall watch the first one, and psych myself out even more.

Yesteday was my “I’m Riding Solo” day, and what better way to have bonding time with myself other than do one of my most favorite things in the world, which is to watch movies!
FINALLY got to watch the VERY overdue film Inception, which I have to say is bloody brilliant. I am in awe of Cristopher Nolan’s mind and his capability to conceive such an idea for a film. The film had many layers to it (this is not just a metaphor, lols), and it was quite tricky keeping up with about 5 different perceptions of reality. But it’s fine, because I love movies that make you tug your brain a lot.
Oh and I don’t know if I say this enough, but Leonardo di Caprio is one of my favorite actors. He always delivers superbly in films, and the emotions he can evoke out of himself sends tingles down my spine. I loved him in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape (where he was only around 13), Titanic, Revolutionary Road (my God, what a heavy movie), Shutter Island (which gave me the shivers and was outrageously ingenious as well), and this last installment of his. I am yet to watch Blood Diamond, but I’ll make a point to do that for sure.
Oh yeah, we have the same birthday as well. :)
I also watched Scott Pilgrim vs the World, which was another one of those quirky, unexpected/hmmm-I’m-actually-enjoying-this, out-of-this-world movies like Kick-Ass. The graphics were awesome, to say the least, and it’s script had doses of intelligent humor. Intelligent, not because it made you analyze things, but because the punchlines were so unhyped and flat, that it just had to make you laugh. Now, that’s clever.
Now, let me talk about my teenage crush on Michael Cera. He stole my heart on the screen of Juno, and has been coming back to steal more of it ever since. There’s just something that he has going on with his nerdy, lanky appeal. Also, I love his choice in films and the types of characters he plays. From Nick in Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, Nick and his evil alterego Francois in Youth in Revolt, to playing himself in Paper Hearts, he never ceases to fascinate me.

I’ve always wanted a before-and-after photo. Well, here it is.
I have very thick hair, and it can get quite heavy and annoying, so I like how my hairstylist put lots of layers in it and texturized some parts. It now feels very light and free :)
Also, I love how the highlights are subtle because I didn’t have her put them on the topmost layer of my hair. They’re rooted from the inside.
Trust me, it took a long time for me to build the guts to get full-on bangs. I’ve been thinking about getting them since forever, but I was always afraid that I won’t be able to pull them off. I was second-guessing myself the whole time, up to the point where my hairstylist positioned her scissors in front of my forehead and asked, “Should we go through with the bangs?”
But you know what thought came to mind when she asked that question? It was, “Fuck this, we only live once and we should take risks. If it works out then yippie, and if it doesn’t and this haircut makes me look like a moronic idiot, then I’ll deal with it. At least I tried somehing new.”
So there’s the story of my haircut. I bet you’re staggering with fascination. hahaha.

The horses have such cool names, I tell you. Cinnomon, Zorro, and Chipita, for example.
